Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about what DancePassport is, who it's for, what it costs, and how the AI works.
What is DancePassport?
DancePassport is an AI-powered dance education and studio management platform. It gives every dance student a personal QR code that connects attendance, assessments, digital portfolios, invoicing, and parent communication in one system.
Who is DancePassport for?
DancePassport is built for dance studio owners, dance teachers, students, and parents. Studio owners and teachers use it to run classes and manage a studio; students and parents use it to track progress, videos, feedback, and fees.
How much does DancePassport cost?
DancePassport has three tiers: Starter (up to 50 students) from R599/month in South Africa, £29/month in the UK, or €35/month in the EU; Professional (50–200 students) from R1,799 / £89 / €99 per month; and Enterprise (200+ students) from R4,999 / £249 / €279 per month. Full details are on the pricing page.
Is DancePassport available in South Africa, the UK, and Europe?
Yes. DancePassport is based in South Africa and serves dance studios in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Europe, with pricing shown in ZAR, GBP, and EUR respectively.
What does DancePassport do for dance studios?
DancePassport replaces paper registers and spreadsheets with QR-based attendance, links billing directly to attendance, automates parent updates, tracks exams and results, manages costumes and shows, and gives studio owners analytics on attendance and retention.
What AI features does DancePassport offer?
Today, DancePassport's AI assists with automated report writing and learning trend analysis, with a teacher reviewing and approving every AI-assisted output. Planned future AI features include predictive learning trend analysis, personalised practice plans, and technical plateau identification.
Does DancePassport replace dance teachers?
No. DancePassport's AI is designed to reduce administrative work like report writing, so teachers have more time to teach. It does not replace a teacher's judgement, feedback, or relationship with students.
How does the QR code system work?
Every student is issued a unique QR code when they join a studio. Teachers scan it to log attendance, which automatically links to that student's invoicing, assessments, and parent communication for the class.
Can parents see their child's progress in DancePassport?
Yes. Parents get real-time updates, progress reports, homework and videos, notifications, and fee statements through the parent communication hub.
Is there a free trial or demo of DancePassport?
Studios can book a demo directly through the DancePassport website contact page to see the platform and discuss which pricing tier fits their studio size.
Does DancePassport replace my studio's business or CRM software?
No. DancePassport is built to complement studio business and marketing tools (such as Dance Business Solutions), not replace them. Those tools manage the business of running a studio; DancePassport focuses specifically on assessment, pedagogy, and each dancer's progress record.
What is a DancePassport growth fingerprint?
A growth fingerprint is the evolving record built from a student's assessments across DancePassport's fourteen-quality framework (including alignment, timing, musicality, and artistry), scored consistently over time to show how a dancer is developing, not just what grade they're at.
